Journey
- Dr Sumit completed his M.B.B.S. with Honours between 2007 and 2012, followed by a one-year compulsory internship and a one-year house-surgeonship in Neurosurgery at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. He subsequently pursued his M.S. in General Surgery at the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and later obtained the D.N.B. in General Surgery in the same specialty. He is also a Fellow of Minimal Access Surgeons of India and a Member of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK.
- Following his postgraduate training, he gained one year of experience in General Surgery at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital as a Senior Medical Officer, and an additional year of experience in Urology at Sir H. N. Reliance Hospital, Mumbai, where he worked as a Clinical Assistant. After securing an outstanding All India Rank 3, he opted to undertake formal super-specialty training in Urology at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow.
- Post completion of his urology training, he served as an Assistant Professor at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and subsequently at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. He has received multiple awards at national and international conferences and has made significant contributions to the urological literature through several published papers and book chapters. He is actively involved in peer review for multiple academic journals and has also been invited to deliver lectures on various urological topics at professional platforms. Additionally, he holds certification from Intuitive Surgical following training on the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
